How Much Should You Drink? (Really)!
Water. It’s kind of a big deal. For the sustainability of our planet and our own personal health water has a crucial roll.
This week on #WellnessWednesday, we were joined by MOBOT’s very own Founder & CEO, Lani Cooper, watch as we dive deep into the importance of water and hydration (catch them on IGTV below and read on for cliff-notes!):
When we speak about hydration, it's really important to remember that there are many things in our lives that dehydrate us even more! These buzzkills include things like stress, exercise, processed foods, sugar, alcohol and caffeine. All of which will require you to drink even more water than our recommendation.
Also to note, hydration isn’t complete without talking about electrolytes and minerals... Sprinkle some organic sea salt and maybe some lemon in your water at least once a day. Other key electrolytes include potassium and magnesium. It may also be a good idea to invest in an electrolyte mix.
The brand that Ryan Hodge, MOBOT Director of Ed, currently recommends is called LMNT salts (added bonus - it has no sugar!).
Drinking water has so many health benefits. The lymphatic system, digestive system, and many other critical human processes are dependent on proper hydration.
In order to make hydration a habit we find it invaluable to have a reusable water bottle with you everywhere. Preferably a sustainable water bottle that you could even use to foam roll (que MOBOT)!
Most people find the bigger the water bottle the easier it is to drink enough water everyday.
"Make it a priority to have a big glass of water every morning and another couple of glasses by the mid day or afternoon."
Lastly, let’s not forget to make sure we as a planet never run out of clean, sustainable water sources. Eliminating plastic water bottles, and most all plastic products, is a huge step in the right direction.
Try to find an appropriate type of water filtration system for your needs and budget. Then, if you are feeling extra generous, it's always a good idea to donate to non profit organizations that contribute to cleaning our oceans, or help bring clean water to people in need.
