Being an athlete form a young age, moving is part of my everyday life. Naturally athletic, I played numerous sports growing up, primarily ice hockey, which is the sport I fell in love with. Being part of a team was one of my favorite aspects; family outside of my family. As I grew up, and became more skilled at my craft, I was lucky enough to play Division 1 with a group of phenomenal athletes. Prevention and recovery soon became the biggest aspect of my training. More times than not, warm-ups and cool-downs were the best times for chatting and storytelling. While in university, people also became my passion. The thrust for learning and sharing unique stories quickly transformed into my purpose in life. Hearing and filming ones personal growth, through the valley and peaks, moves me and makes me a better human being.
My go-to move is rolling my glutes, all day baby! We sit in chairs so much our hips tend to be the tightest part of the body and are central to proper movement.
When did you start foam rolling?
Foam rolling was first introduced to me when I was 17 and I haven’t stopped since!
How has MOBOT helped you?
MOBOT has helped me because I can bring my preventative and recovery tool with me on any adventure while staying hydrated. Active people couldn’t ask for a better tool. Plus it’s not just an average foam roller, it has trigger point technology which makes recovery that much better.
Your advice to anyone new to foam rolling?
If you’re new to foam rolling, take it slow. It may be intimidating, a bit awkward, and it may hurt at first. As with anything new in life, give it time and you will never want to give it back.
If you’re stuck deciding whether or not foam rolling is for you, ask yourself: “Is preventing injuries and recovering from activity right for me?” I think you’ll know the answer :)
If you’re stuck wondering if MOBOT is right for you, I ask you, where is your water bottle and your foam roller right now? Mine is at my side :)
